Nearly a month ago the fab folks at Zola sent me a whole box full of their goodies to try out!

I think I’ve mentioned before that I often have a hard time finding coconut water that I actually like the taste of.  So many taste nothing like coconut and I rarely stray from the one or two brands I’ve come to trust when it comes to consistent flavour so I was excited to try Zola since it was a new (to me) brand to see how it compared.

That Sunday I went out for a (very hot!) run and when I came home I was ready to crack into a coconut!

The verdict?  I loved it!  It really does taste like you’ve cracked into a coconut!  So many coconut waters have a nasty after taste, and Zola has an after taste, but it would be more accurately described as an “awesome taste” because when you stop drinking you get this aftertaste of toasted coconut.  It’s so good!  I was really quite impressed at how much I liked it.  I will often put coconut water in with a smoothie (to avoid the aforementioned after taste) but with Zola it would seem criminal to cover up the coconut-y taste in a smoothie!

In addition to the coconut water I also tried their Organic Acai Juice.  To be honest, it wasn’t my favourite.  I don’t think this is Zola‘s problem, I think I’m simply not a fan of the taste of Acai.  I’ve tried Acai juice in the past and really didn’t like it, but thought I’d give it another try.  Turns out, I still don’t like it.

Even though it wasn’t my favourite I still drank the entire bottle! ;)

The last bottle they sent me was of their coconut water with pulp.  I was a bit hesitant about this one.  I like pulp in my orange juice, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about pulp in my coconut water.  I saved this one to re-hydrate after my 10K this past weekend

and was pleasantly surprised – again.  I didn’t mind the pulp at all, if given the choice I would probably stick to pulp free, but it really wouldn’t be a big deal to me at all if the coconut water with pulp was all that was available.

Where to buy:

You can use their store locator to find your nearest retailer, or you can purchase directly from their website.

If you are on Facebook you can “like” Zola Acai, and while you are there all my fellow Canucks can enter to win 10 cases of Zola Coconut Water! (If you win, will you please share with me????), and if you are on twitter or instagram check them out at @drinkzola
